 What was supposed to be one post now has to be done in two parts because blogger has a new rule - only 20 tags allowed. Earlier the limit was 200 letters. All I can ask is that you bear with me and return to see the beauties in the next post as well.

Back in April 2022, it was my intention to share a mix of Endrucksian models from our members, showcasing the different effects, applications, adaptations, etc. as inspiration. Along the way there was so much to share from our games, and the burst of pattern PDFs that this fell by the wayside. Now I am trying to revive it whenever possible .... 

E28 & E39 combo adaptation : 

This is the E28 Gift Box with E39 Rose by Daniela Galli (March2022)

Daniela said - 

I try number 28 but I pull, I tighten the bows (chains) too much and the result is a little hat... I decide not to throw it away, this is the result .. I made a mini box

Although I cannot be certain, I think instead of 8 repeats she made only 5 (or is it 6?) repeats around; which is why there was so much cupping, LOL.

She repeated the cupped doily for the base and lid getting a nice box.

And she went on to decorate the lid with an adaptation of the E39 motif into a 3D rose, adding layers to the rose, and then some random tatted foliage and flowers. She has already adapted other Endrucks' patterns for 2D and 3D roses! Like the rose below ...

E42 application :

Roberta Porati (June2025) tatted up some of the E42 roses along with some foliage-type fillers to decorate a comb! One can see blocks, rings, chains, and even some Cluny tallies interspersed around the roses. Although at the time this is what she said - 

I'm undecided whether to stick it on the comb or on 1 headband,....

E5 adaptation :

Debbie L Fister (May2025) extracted a motif from the E5 edging and adapted it for bookmarks, adding long tails. This is what she said -

The first 2 tatted as written version 1. # 3 tatted beginning at top & made in 1 pass. I think version 2 would have been the better choice. I never got the hang of tatting an anticlockwise ring.

Cynthia Dooley (Oct2025), a needle tatter, worked up this flock of bats to brighten up a T-shirt! And  she chirps -

Daddy bat, Mommy bat, Baby bat on flight for Halloween. Sewn on to T-shirt. ... What fun.

• These are but a teeny tiny sample of the works done by our members. To reiterate, all patterns are derived from Eleonore Endrucks' 1920 book, Die Schiffchen-Spitzen which contained only 44 patterns!

E Hearts

 We have quite a collection of hearts derived from Endrucks' patterns and even more patterns where these hearts have been applied such as bookmarks, coasters, butterflies, etc. There are even more I have spied in other patterns that will hopefully come to life in thread some time. Or I might just share the idea for others to work out.

The above is only a fraction of the hearts/applications I tatted. Found these easily in the two nearest boxes I rummaged through. But there is not a single heart from pattern #1 here, nor butterflies, etc.

It was spur of the moment and I hastily put this collage together.

The above hearts are from E3, E5, E28, E32, E37.

truant heart

Pin It now! The truancy continues, well at least on some days. On other days I am simply vegetating hoping to rouse myself. 

This time it is with two heart patterns shared by our clever and prolific designers - Ninetta Caruso and Daniela Galli.

Mother's Day Heart by Ninetta Caruso - 

This is a derivative from Endrucks' pattern #5. I worked it in Sanbest metallic.

Instead of the beaded strings, Ninetta left bare thread on both sides - a nice effect! In a conservative mood, I strung beads on the thread after all the tatting was completed.

Can't say I am too comfortable working with metallics ... for one thing, the front and back side are not clearly distinguishable.

Just one more pic, LOL.

The pattern which was first included in the main pdf for pattern #5, is now shared as a separate pdf and is one of the patterns in our #pickmeEndrucks Feb2023 event in our Endrucks 1920 Project FB group.

Albero dell'amore (Tree of Love) by Daniela Galli - 

This heart shape is so biologically correct, isn't it?! 

There were large colourful beads added to the rings, and I was going to sew them in, too. But ....

 

I love the overlapping Victorian set chains. I worked this 2-round deign in one pass by starting at the left and climbing out with a split ring so that I could continue around with a 3rd round ...

Not willing to distract from the effect, I avoided the large beads. 

Instead, I added another round of chains to the top half, with seed beads ....

And this is what came of it - the biological shape ensconced in a stylized iconic heart shape.

Worked in Anchor size 20 (equivalent to Lizbeth size 10), it turned out kinda large.

This pattern was shared by Daniela Galli in an event in their Chiacchierino: Filo, Amore e Fantasia FB group.

I thoroughly enjoyed working on both hearts, and hope the designers don't mind my tweaks. And both hearts are quick tats, beads notwithstanding!

Our kitty of derived and adapted patterns in the Endrucks 1920 Project is growing faster than we can process them! 2 more patterns are shared by one of our most prolific members, Reiko! These can be used as standalones or as motifs to connect for a larger piece.

Reiko's Ninth Symphony -

This central motif, with its sense of motion, is an original pattern by Reiko, and looks good as is.

But add to it a cleverly adapted pattern #5, and we have a possible flower, coaster, etc.

This is an adapted arrangement of 2 of Endrucks'  patterns. 

In the center we have part of pattern #40 -  while it is constructed differently, the essence is maintained. 

The next round is pattern #1 with no changes.

This motif can be worked continuously if desired by exiting the last split ring at the appropriate point.

Incidentally, since there are 10 repeats, the rounds can be interchanged with the Happy Hands Sunflower (https://tipsaroundthehome.blogspot.com/2021/03/happy-sunflowers.html ) for more variety.

We hope to add complete diagrams and written pattern in the coming months. For now, Reiko has graciously shared her drawings and notes along with some close-ups.
