aug roundup 2

Pin It now!
Continuing from my last post where spin-off patterns from the 'pretty me aug 2022' event were shared, the following is a compilation of the lovely versions that came in from enthusiastic participants. You will find more details in our FB group (Endrucks 1920 Project); here is merely a summary, with names arranged alphabetically ....

1. Amarilys Cwb  actually tatted it before the event started, with pretty beads and background.

2. Anita Barry produced this beauty almost overnight, alongside a trial piece. The backgrounds make such a difference. It reminds me of  the Egyptian king,Tutankhamun.

3. Anna Bonelli proficiently belted out 2 hearts - one with needle and one with shuttle, adding cute picot flowers to fill in the negative space.

4. Antonia Lai went to town with first a beaded version ;
then what she called a Lollipop Heart using double picots for prettification;
and finally tatting Ninetta's coaster version ....

5. Carol Liu literally just sent in her cheerful version of Ninetta's Coaster

6. Cigalou DuSud adopted Marina MadJar Tatting's key chain pendant in a pleasant colourway.

7. Jane McLellan took time out to tat 4 beaded hearts (https://janemactats.blogspot.com/2022/08/two-birds.html) ....
which she sewed on fabric for a milk jug cover (https://janemactats.blogspot.com/2022/08/i-learnt-something.html)

8. Jiamrat Supapol worked Marina's keychain pendant with a slight variation, adding tiny rings between each ring ;
and went on to tat Ninetta's coaster, too.
I enjoy the way she displays her tatting, hence sharing one more pic of her coaster -

9. Lella Loops needle tatted both a single heart and a pendant. In her pendant version she has added texture through crystals and Victorian Sets

10. Lillian Tatlace shared her version of Ninetta's coaster.

.....to be continued
As you can see, tatters have worked multiple projects to inspire and enthuse.

All these images are collected in an album in our FB group, titled 'pretty me aug 2022'. It is a place where future versions will be uploaded, too, so that they are all in one place.

One final post to show off the rest of the prettifications ....

Many many thanks to all our participants for your beautiful versions
... you make us want to do more!

aug roundup 1

Pin It now!

 Our game of the month for August 2022 in our Endrucks 1920 Project FB group, where a heart was to be prettified, can be considered quite a success. We were happy to see lots of personalised versions coming in, including a few patterns! There are too many pics to share, hence in this 1st part I will focus on the adaptations that come with a proper pattern pdf. All posts will be organised alphabetically.

But first, the heart that started it all -

Heart motif  from pattern #3 by Meenakshi (muskaan) Jain

First spied in January 2022, converted to a pattern in June, and used for our 'pretty me aug 2022' game in our FB group.

💖💖💖

Key Chain Pendant by Marina MadJar Tatting

Keeping the heart motif exactly the same, Marina added a split ring braid connecting hearts as well as the key chain ring, all tatted in one pass.

The insertion of a large bead between twin hearts makes it look like an embedded pearl!

Heart motif and Bookmark by Margaret Davies

Margaret enlarged the motif by adding another round enclosing the original heart. Further decoration consists of either picots, Josephine rings, or beads.
The entire motif is worked in one pass.

The bookmark is a further adaptation of the enlarged heart with individual hearts within.
Both patterns are contained in this pdf -

Coaster by Ninetta Caruso

Repeating 5 hearts with a split ring between each and Ninetta gives us a coaster that can be tatted in one pass.

Butterfly motif by Stephanie Mc (Tattimic)

Hearts make such lovely butterflies! Stephanie adds a distinct body between the wings, again tatted continuously!

And my next posts will showcase the talents of our participants ....

Many many thanks to our wonderful designers
who have generously shared their pattern adaptations!

game of extraction

Pin It now!
No fears of any tooth extraction!!! We are talking about extracting motifs from a specific pattern.

Last month's game of the month brought us so many prettified hearts and even a few patterns! I will showcase them soon in this blog. This month we have a slightly different game with lots of creative imagination in play.

You can play along, too, and join our FB group (Endrucks 1920 Project) or send pictures of your work to either Ninetta Caruso or to me.

Game Of The Month – EXTRACT ME SEP 2022

The pattern we are using this time is Endrucks' #25Pattern #25 is an extension of #24 which was presented by Ninetta Caruso and now we have a composite of both diagrams in the #25 pdf.

What you see is what you extract!

Take a look at this lovely model of Endrucks’ pattern #25 tatted by Elisabetta De Napoli alongside Endrucks' original diagram. Can you spot different shapes and objects?

If we break it down into motifs and view it from different angles, we can easily see a flower, a sun, a leaf or pod, a rainbow, perhaps waves or a fence, perhaps a sunflower, a tortoise, a tree, ….For instance the motifs extracted and tatted by Ninetta Caruso.

Our task is to extract one or more of these motifs, tat them, and then glue them on a card in any arrangement or composition.

  •  You are free to choose colours, thread sizes, embellishments, etc.
  •  You are also free to tweak the motifs to suit your composition and imagination.
  •   You can choose to tat a single motif multiple times or several different motifs.

We are fast approaching autumn and festival season in many countries. The card you make might come in handy for gifting!

In case you face any issue, or have any questions, ask freely.

==================

As in the previous event,

* Please write your name on the pic.

* Use the hashtag #extractmeEndrucks and #Endrucks1920Project in the description and any other detail you want to share, whenever you upload to any platform.

Looking forward to your creative tatting and cards
